Jon Gosselin Ditching Dogs; Kate Won't Take Care of Them

I imagine that the article speaks for itself. I had read about the abuse of his dogs a while back. All I have to say is that I certainly hope the breeder finds better homes for these two animals. My heart is so totally aching right now. And, yes folks, these are the same "adults" who are raising eight children.

Watch as he loads them up to give them away. He doesn't show any concern for animals that have given him all their love. He's a poor excuse for responsibility, if you ask me.

Jon Gosselin says estranged wife Kate is in the dog house — because she won't take care of his German Shephard puppies, Shoka and Nala. So he is returning them to the breeders. "It's not fair to the dogs to not be wanted in their own home," Jon says. See a photo of Jon playing with his dogs

The dogs belonged to Jon, and he was in charge of feeding, brushing and caring for them. He didn't explain why he won't just bring the dogs with him to New York City – where he rents a  two-bedroom bachelor pad — when it is not his turn to stay at the family's $1.1 million home in Wernersville, Pa.

Earlier in the summer, the Humane Society of Berks County, Pa., received about a dozen complaints from animal activists around the country after Gosselin said his eight kids "beat" the dogs, "climb on them, pull their tails, bite at them, drag them around."

He later denied animal cruelty claims, stating: "We understand the responsibilities of being good dog owners."

That "family" should not have pets. We hope those dogs get a good home with someone who actually cares about them and will take proper care of them.

Being from the UK I haven't seen much of the John and Kate story.

Personally I think the dogs are better off going to the breeder for whatever reasons caused due to the split. At least he isn't trying to sell them for a quick buck which is what usually happenes here. The classified ads are full of sad dogs being sold due to family break ups.

You'd think that constantly bring in the public's eye, you wouldn;t do dumb things. Well, some people are just plain ole stupid! They have a litter themselves, why add pets???

I like to give his kids a spanking. Only out of control kids would do such a thing. I think the word will get out & the dogs will be adopted quickly from the breeder. Breeder should not give $ back to Jon & Kate & should not charge people wanting to adopt them.

It amazes us how people can just treat animals as disposable and get rid of them when they no longer fit in their lifestyle. Don't understand why they don't get that pets are a lifetime commitment and a big responsibility. It's sad for the dogs. We hope they find even better homes.

Hi kitties. Yes, we saw the stories about Jon and the dogs. I hope the breeders find a better home for them! Thanks so much for your advice on my blog. The instinct around this house is to give me all the attention and little treats I want and that's the way it should be!

We don't have a high opinion of the Gosselins. We're kinda glad that the dogs are going back to the breeder 'cuz the Gosselins sure aren't taking care of them and they don't deserve them....

I saw this story yesterday, and honestly I have to admit I am glad they are going back to the breeder. I watch the show (yes, I am ashamed to admit it) and they treat those dogs horribly on camera so I can't imagine what happens when they aren't filmed. They haven't been in any of the recent episodes so I was concerned about the. I am glad these poor puppies will have a chance at a good life now. This family is such a trainwreck - the dogs deserve better. They can't control their kids and don't teach them to treat animals with love and respect - makes me wonder what they are teaching these kids.

I think that they got the dogs in the first place to enhance the show -- not their lives. I remember Kate saying she wasn't even a dog person at the time.

Eight little kids is enough to deal with -- they should have just gotten a cat! Dogs take much more work. Of course lots of people would never even consider getting a cat.

Better to take the dogs back to the breeder than continue to neglect them. I'm sure they'll find a better home for them. So don't be sad.

I kind of think that the dogs will be better off - these 2 sorry excuses for humans shouldn't have animals let alone kids...

If they can't take proper care of their dogs....I fear even more for their human children...they can't return them.
